A salaried postgraduate programme combining academic study with a mentored placement. Available in shortage subject areas (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Home Economics, or Computing Studies) to those living in one of the four partner local education authority areas (Aberdeenshire; Argyll and Bute; Scottish Borders; Highland Council).

Through a combination of experiential learning in a secondary school, online distance learning, and campus-based learning activities, the course blends together the initial teacher education phase and the Teacher Induction Scheme (TIS) phase required to become a fully qualified teacher.

This is currently the only route to GTCS registration as a teacher for dance specialists qualified to teacher learners aged 3-18 years in schools.

Participants work at a school in the local authority whilst completing the programme and GTCS Full Registration is awarded at the end of Year 1. This is a funded model, specifically for probationer teachers who have qualified in Ireland and who are working in local authorities which have a partnership agreement with the university.
