College Lecturers: Apply for Registration

Covid-19 - PVG Forms

Please note that Disclosure Scotland is currently prioritising checks for those working in health and care sectors. Applications will be processed as promptly as possible, but there may be a delay. For further information, please visit the Disclosure Scotland website.

Registration offers a range of benefits for college lecturers.

Registration with GTCS by college lecturers is voluntary, as there is not yet a legal requirement for them to be registered. A cross sector working group has been set up to establish requirements and pathways for College lecturers to register with and be regulated by GTC Scotland. This follows the college sector National Joint Negotiating Committee settlement agreement in 2017.

Professional Standards for Lecturers in Scotland's Colleges

These Standards have been developed through partnership working between the College Development Network and GTC Scotland. They are designed as a benchmark for learning and teaching, and to enhance and promote professional learning. GTC Scotland has been given responsibility for these Professional Standards by the Scottish Government.
